The Supreme Court today is scheduled to take up Uddhav Thackeray faction’s plea challenging the decision of the Election Commission recognising Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led faction as the real Shiv Sena and ordering allocation of ‘bow and arrow’ poll symbol it.
After much delay since the high-stakes civic polls in Delhi, the stage is set for the election of a new mayor today following a Supreme Court order. The election to the posts of mayor, deputy mayor and six members of the standing committee will be held. The exercise to hold elections to the top post will be carried out after three failed attempts.
