India is a powerful voice on the international stage and an important partner for the UK, visiting British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Saturday after holding “productive” talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on a range of issues including bilateral cooperation in areas of trade, investment and defence.
The Ukraine conflict and the situation in the Indo-Pacific also figured in discussions, according to Jaishankar.
It is learnt that the two sides also took stock of the ongoing negotiations for the proposed Indo-UK free trade agreement.
